Digital Meetup with Ulli Lust (May 9, 8 PM)

Ulli Lust will be our guest mentor at this special edition of Renate’s Comic Artists Meetup, happening as part of the city-wide satellite events for this years ComicInvasion Berlin festival.

Ulli Lust is one of the world’s most acknowledged German language comic artists. Based in Berlin, she is the author of the internationally awarded graphic memoirs "Today is the Last Day of the Rest of Your Life" and "How I Tried to Be a Good Person". Further information: www.ullilust.de 

Renate is a comics library and store founded in the 90s in the heart of Berlin. Hosting a monthly “stammtisch”, it is a place where people interested in making or reading comics come to meet, drink, talk and swap their self-published comics and zines. With the beginning of you-know-what, the meetups moved online. This extra special CIB edition will be held completely in English as a crossover with Panel Up, Berlin’s international community of comics lovers.

Participation as video call with APPLICATION:

please send an email with the subject line 'Stammtisch' to the Meetup coordinator Augusto (augusto [dot] paim [at] gmail [dot] com), he will send you the meeting link on the day. Add to the email what you will be showing and what topics are of interest to you. You don't have to show your face in the call if you don't want to, but have your sketches or comics ready in digital form on your computer to be able to get feedback from other comic artists and from the mentor. This online meeting will not be recorded or broadcast publicly, it is only for you artists who are participating.

Die Renate ist eine in den 1990er Jahren gegründete Comic-Bibliothek und ein Comic-Laden, der im Herzen Berlins liegt. Mit ihrem monatlichen Stammtisch gilt sie als ein Ort, an dem Menschen, die Comics machen oder lesen, sich treffen, trinken, reden und ihre selbst veröffentlichten Comics und Zines tauschen. 2020 sind die Stammtische online gegangen. Diese besondere Ausgabe wird komplett auf Englisch abgehalten, als Crossover mit Panel Up, Berlins internationaler Gemeinschaft von Comic-Liebenden.

bitte schickt eine kurze EMAIL mit dem Betreff 'Stammtisch' an augusto [dot] paim [at] gmail [dot] com und schreibt kurz dazu, was ihr vorzeigen wollt bzw. welche Themen-Bereiche euch interessieren. Stammtisch-Koordinator Augusto Paim sendet euch am 9.5. den Link zum Treffen zu. Ihr müsst euer Gesicht nicht zeigen, wenn ihr nicht wollt, aber es wäre wichtig, dass ihr eure Zeichnungen/Entwürfe/Storyboards/Probeseiten DIGITAL bereit habt, als digitale Zeichnungen oder abfotografiert/gescannt. Dieses Onlinetreffen wird nicht aufgenommen oder gestreamt, es ist nur für euch angemeldete Comic-Künstler*Innen.
