Mo. 2.06 ab 20h Comicstammtisch mit / Comics Meetup with Jan Bauer

Im Juni nimmt uns der digitale Stammtisch der Comicbibliothek Renate mit auf Reise. Genau genommen: Es geht nach Australien! Denn der Mentor Jan Bauer besuchte mehrmals die Warlpiri-Aborigines aus der Wüstensiedlung Yuendumu, mit denen ihn eine herzliche Freundschaft verbindet. Daraus sind zwei Graphic Novels bei avant-Verlag entstanden: »Der Salzige Fluss« (2014) und »Unter rotem Staub« (2023). Jan Bauer wurde 1976 in Preetz geboren. Er studierte Illustration an der Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften in Hamburg und Animation am Queensland College of Art in Brisbane. Als freier Illustrator und Autor illustriert er Bilderbücher für Kinder und Erwachsene und wirkt an der Produktion von zahlreichen Animationsserien, Kurz- und Langfilmen mit. Zudem lehrt er als Dozent für Trickfilm und Illustration. Wenn er nicht unterwegs ist, lebt und arbeitet Jan Bauer in Hamburg.

In June, the digital meetup of the Comics Library Renate takes us on a journey. To be precise: We are going to Australia! For mentor Jan Bauer visited the Warlpiri Aborigines from the desert settlement of Yuendumu several times, with whom he shares a warm friendship. This has resulted in two graphic novels published by avant-Verlag: “The Salty River” (2014) and “Unter rotem Staub” (2023). Jan Bauer was born in Preetz in 1976. He studied illustration at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg and animation at the Queensland College of Art in Brisbane. As a freelance illustrator and author, he illustrates picture books for children and adults and is involved in the production of numerous animated series, short films and feature films. He also teaches animation and illustration. When he is not on the road, Jan Bauer lives and works in Hamburg.
