Mo. 2.02 ab 20h Comicstammtisch mit / Comics Meetup with Elizabeth Pich

Im Februar wird der digitale Stammtisch der Comicbibliothek Renate besonders lustig. Die Mentorin Elizabeth Pich wurde 1989 in Friedberg (Bayern) geboren und wuchs in den Vereinigten Staaten auf. Sie studierte Informatik an der Universität des Saarlandes und Kommunikationsdesign an der Hochschule der Bildenden Künste Saar. Schon während ihrer Studienzeit begann sie zusammen mit Jonathan Kunz den Webcomic »War and Peas«, dessen über 500 Episoden internationale Aufmerksamkeit erreichten. Seit 2014 arbeitet sie außerdem an ihrer Comicserie »Fungirl«. Im März 2019 gewann sie den vom Deutschen Bundesrat ausgerufenen „Bundes-Comicbattle Föderal“ für das Saarland. Von 2017 bis 2018 arbeitete Pich als Software-Entwicklerin am Zentrum für Kunst und Medien in Karlsruhe für die Ausstellung Open Codes, unter Leitung von Ludger Brümmer. Außerdem ist sie Mitbegründerin des „Comic Symposiums“ in Saarbrücken.

In February, the digital meetup of the Comics Library Renate will be especially fun. Mentor Elizabeth Pich was born in Friedberg, Bavaria, in 1989 and grew up in the United States. She studied computer science at Saarland University and communication design at the Saar College of Fine Arts. While still a student, she teamed up with Jonathan Kunz to create the webcomic “War and Peas,” whose more than 500 episodes attracted international attention. Since 2014, she has also been working on her comic series “Fungirl.” In March 2019, she won the “Bundes-Comicbattle Föderal” competition for the Saarland, organized by the German Bundesrat. From 2017 to 2018, Pich worked as a software developer at the Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe for the Open Codes exhibition, under the direction of Ludger Brümmer.
