ANALOG: Mo. 14.10. ab 19h Comicstammtisch/ Comicmeeting

Renate schaute auf die Uhr – noch für eine halbe Stunde Atemluft im Tank! Da blitzte etwas vom Meeresboden unter ihr auf – der legendäre Piratenschatz? Plötzlich streifte sie ein Schatten – der gefürchtete Tintenfisch! Doch was überkam sie da wie eine Blase Tusche unter Wasser? „Mal mir ein Pferd“ signalisierte das acharmige Monster und Renate zückte ihre Feder aus den Tauchgürtel und zeichnete los…

Leider ankert der RENATE Stammtisch nicht am Strand des Meeres, aber ob mit Floßen oder ohne, einarmig oder zehnarmig, wenn ihr euch über untermeerische Comics und anderes unterhalten wollt seid ihr herzlich willkommen!
Wie immer um 19:00 Uhr in der RENATE Comicbibliothek, am Montag den 14. Oktober 2024.

Kleine Info:
Margaritari wird unseren Stammtisch filmisch begelieten und ein paar Videoaufnahmen machen. Wer nicht gefilmt werden mag, kann sich gerne an Sebastian oder Margaritari wenden dann wird es selbverständlich darauf verzichtet, diese Person zu filmen.


Renate looked at her watch - there was still half an hour of air left in the tank! Then something flashed up from the seabed beneath her - the legendary pirate treasure? Suddenly a shadow brushed against her - the dreaded octopus! But what came over her like a bubble of ink under water? "Draw me a horse" signalled the acharming monster and Renate pulled her pen out of her diving belt and started drawing...

Unfortunately, the RENATE Stammtisch is not anchored on the beach of the sea, but whether with rafts or without, one-armed or ten-armed, if you want to talk about underwater comics and other things, you are very welcome!
As always at 19:00 in the RENATE Comic Library, on Monday 14 October 2024.

Margaritari will film our regulars' table and make a few video recordings. If you don't want to be filmed, you are welcome to contact Sebastian or Margaritari and they will of course refrain from filming this person.

Mo. 7.10 ab 20h Comicstammtisch mit / Comics Meetup with David Basler

Im Oktober widmet sich der digitale Stammtisch der Comicbibliothek Renate dem Verlagswesen. Genaugenommen: der Verlagswesensgeschichte. Denn Mentor David Basler hat sich zeitlebens für die Etablierung des Mediums Comic im deutschen Sprachraum engagiert. Als Gründungsmitglied der Edition Moderne und langjähriger Mitherausgeber von der Zeitschrift Strapazin verfügt er über ein breites Wissen und viel Erfahrung in Publikation von Comics, im Buchhandel und in der Bildbetrachtung. Fast 40 Jahre lang prägte er mit der Edition Moderne die deutschsprachige Comicszene, bevor er 2019 die Verlagsleitung an eine neue Generation abgegeben hat. Von der Stadt Zürich wurde David Basler für seine besonderen kulturellen Verdienste geehrt.

In October, the digital meetup of the Comics Library Renate is dedicated to the publishing industry. To be precise: the history of publishing. After all, mentor David Basler has been committed to establishing the medium of comics in the German-speaking world throughout his life. As a founding member of Edition Moderne and long-time co-publisher of the magazine Strapazin, he has a broad knowledge and a great deal of experience in publishing comics, in the book trade and in the observation of images. He shaped the German-language comics scene with Edition Moderne for almost 40 years before handing over the reins of the publishing house to a new generation in 2019. David Basler was honoured by the City of Zurich for his outstanding cultural achievements.

Mo. 2.9 ab 20h Comicstammtisch mit / Comics Meetup with Simone Grünewald

Als Vorgeschmack für den Manga Day 2024 bieten wir im September einen digitalen Stammtisch der Comicbibliothek Renate mit der Hamburger Illustratorin Simone Grünewald als Mentorin. 2006 machte sie ihren Abschluss an der Hamburger Technischen Kunstschule, um danach an der Hamburg Animation-School Animation und Zeichentrick von der Pike auf zu lernen. 2008 bis 2018 war sie als Graphic Artist und Head of Art bei der Hamburger Spieleschmiede Daedalic Entertainment tätig und konnte den hauseigenen Spiel-Releases ihren eigenen kreativen Stempel aufdrücken, so z.B. bei der »Deponia«-Reihe, »The Whispered World«, »Die Säulen der Erde«, uvm. Seit der Geburt ihres Sohnes arbeitet Simone Grünewald freiberuflich von zu Hause aus und betreut nebenbei unter schmoedraws ihre Social Media-Kanäle auf Instagram, Facebook und Patreon – auf denen sie Zeichentipps und -tricks mit ihren zahlreichen Followern teilt.

As a foretaste of the Manga Day 2024, in September we'll have a digital meetup of the Comics Library Renate with Hamburg illustrator Simone Grünewald as mentor. She graduated from Hamburg Technical Art School in 2006 and then learnt animation and cartooning from the ground up at the Hamburg Animation School. From 2008 to 2018, she worked as a graphic artist and Head of Art at the Hamburg-based game developer Daedalic Entertainment and was able to put her own creative stamp on the company's own game releases, such as the "Deponia" series, "The Whispered World," "The Pillars of the Earth" and many more. Since the birth of her son, Simone Grünewald has been working freelance from home and also manages her social media channels on Instagram, Facebook and Patreon under schmoedraws - where she shares drawing tips and tricks with her many followers.

Mo. 5.8 ab 20h Comicstammtisch mit / Comics Meetup with Karoline Bofinger

Im August haben wir auf dem digitalen Stammtisch der Comicbibliothek Renate eine Mentorin, die zwar nicht zeichnet, dennoch etwas schönes mit Comics macht. Denn Karoline Bofinger verantwortet die seit 2005 etablierte Comicseite in der deutschen Ausgabe von Le Monde diplomatique. Geboren und aufgewachsen in Ostberlin, machte sie eine Schriftsetzerlehre an der BS Rudi Arndt, arbeitete kurz in einem Verlag und war im Februar 1990 Mitgründerin der Ost-taz. Im Sommer desselben Jahres wechselte sie von dort zur taz West, in die Redaktionsräume der damaligen Kochstraße (heute Rudi-Dutschke-Straße).
 Seitdem arbeitet sie – mit einiger Unterbrechung – in der taz als Layouterin und Fotoredakteurin und macht das Layout der Monatszeitschrift Le Monde diplomatique.

In August, we have a mentor at the digital meetup of the Comics Library Renate who doesn't draw, but still does something beautiful with comics. Since 2005, Karoline Bofinger has been responsible for the well-established comics page in the German edition of Le Monde diplomatique. Born and raised in East Berlin, she completed an apprenticeship as a typesetter at BS Rudi Arndt, worked briefly in a publishing house and co-founded Ost-taz in February 1990. In the summer of the same year, she moved from there to taz West, to the editorial offices at the Kochstraße (now Rudi-Dutschke-Straße).
 Since then, she has worked at taz – with some interruptions – as a layout designer and photo editor and does the layout for the monthly magazine Le Monde diplomatique.
