DIGITAL: Mo. 5.2 ab 20h Comicstammtisch mit / Comics Meetup with Anne Zimmermann

Wie macht man aus dem Thema 'Straßensozialarbeit' eine preisgekrönte Graphic Novel? Davon wird uns die Februar-Mentorin des digitalen Stammtischs der Comicbibliothek Renate erzählen. Denn Anne Zimmermann erhielt für ihr Buch »Straßenfunde« 2023 einen GINCO Award in der Kategorie Bester Sachcomic. Was bedeuten Niedrigschwelligkeit oder Kontinuität und wie lassen sich diese abstrakten Begriffe in Bildsprache übersetzen? Wie fühlt sich der Gang zu Berliner Behörden für die Jugendlichen? Um Fragen wie diese zu beantworten, begleitete die Illustratorin viele Soziale Arbeiter*innen in verschiedenen Stadtteilen Berlins, tauchte ein in ihre Erinnerungen und konnte theoretische Grundsätze aus dem Feld Streetwork ganz praktisch erfahren.

How does someone turn the topic of street work into an award-winning graphic novel? The February mentor of the digital meetup of the Comics Library Renate will tell us how she did it. Anne Zimmermann received in 2023 a GINCO Award as Best Non-Fiction Comic for her book "Straßenfunde". What do 'low-threshold' or 'continuity' mean and how can these abstract concepts be translated into visual language? How does an appointment with the Berlin authorities feel for young people? To answer questions like these, the illustrator accompanied many social workers in various districts of Berlin and immersed herself in their memories. Thus, Anne Zimmerman was able to experience theoretical principles from the field of street work in a very practical way.
