Mo. 1.4 ab 20h Comicstammtisch mit / Comics Meetup with Nele Jongeling

Seit letztem Jahr wechseln wir auf dem digitalen Stammtisch der Comicbibliothek Renate zwischen zwei Formaten ab: Einmal gibt es die gewöhnlichen Treffen mit zeichnenden Mentor*innen, die Tipps zum Comicmachen geben, und dann gibt es Treffen mit Mentor*innen, die in der Comicszene andere Tätigkeiten haben als zeichnen, etwa Verleger*innen, Lektor*innen usw. Nun eröffnen wir einen dritten Bereich: Mit der Mentorin Nele Jongeling werden wir im April nicht unbedingt über Comics reden, sondern den Comic dafür nutzen, um uns gesellschaftlich relevante Fragen zu stellen. Denn Nele Jongeling ist eine Comiczeichnerin aus Düsseldorf, die sich sowohl mit Themen wie Feminismus, LGBT+ und mentaler Gesundheit beschäftigt, als auch Aufklärungsarbeit über Gender Transition und Detransition leistet. Von ihr hat der Jaja Verlag die Bücher »Hattest Du eigentlich schon die Operation?« (2020, mit dem Ginco Award ausgezeichnet) und »Emil:ia« (2022) veröffentlicht.

Since last year, we have been alternating between two formats at the digital meetup of the Comics Library Renate: on the one hand, there are the usual meetings with drawing mentors who give tips on making comics, and then there are meetings with mentors who have other jobs in the comics scene than drawing, such as publishers, editors and so on. Now we're opening up a third area: in April, mentor Nele Jongeling won't be necessarily talking about comics with us, but rather using comics to shed light on socially important issues. For Nele Jongeling is a comic artist from Düsseldorf who deals with topics such as feminism, LGBT+ and mental health, as well as she does educational work on gender transition and detransition. Jaja Verlag has published her books "Hattest Du eigentlich schon die Operation?" (2020, honoured with the Ginco Award) and "Emil:ia" (2022).
