DIGITAL: Mo. 7.6. ab 20h Comicstammtisch mit / Comicmeeting with Rita Fürstenau

Im Juni vor einem Jahr fingen wir mit unserem Berliner Stammtisch in digitaler Form an, und das feiern wir jetzt mit einer Mentorin, die aus Kassel zugeschaltet wird. Rita Fürstenau arbeitet als freiberufliche Illustratorin und Autorin. Sie ist Mitgründerin des Verlags Rotopol für grafisches Erzählen und arbeitet seit der Gründung in 2007 als Verlegerin. Sie wurde 1982 in Berlin geboren und zog 2001 für ihr Studium nach Kassel, wo sie an der Kunsthochschule Visuelle Kommunikation mit dem Schwerpunkt Illustration studierte sowie an der Universität Kassel Grundschullehramt und Erziehungswissenschaft. Neben ihrer künstlerischen und verlegerischen Tätigkeit unterrichtet sie seit 2011 an der Kinder- und Jugendkunstschule in Kassel und als Gastdozentin in den Bereichen Illustration und grafisches Erzählen an verschiedenen Hochschulen, u.a. an der Kunsthochschule Kassel, The Animation Workshop Viborg (DK), der Universität Sofia (BG) und der Fudan Universität in Shanghai (CN). Zu ihren Auftraggebern gehören u.a. Bahlsen, Google, Goldkinder-Magazin und die Museumslandschaft Hessen Kassel. Ihre eigenen Arbeiten erscheinen bei Rotopol in Form von Büchern, Faltheften, Papierspielen, Postkarten sowie handbedruckten Skizzenheften und Textilien. Diese sind zusammen mit dem restlichen Verlagsprogramm und einer Vielzahl von Comic- und Bilderbüchern aus der ganzen Welt in ihrer Ladengalerie in Kassel zu finden.

Stammtisch-Koordinator Augusto Paim sendet euch am 7.6. den Link zum Treffen zu. Ihr müsst euer Gesicht nicht zeigen, wenn ihr nicht wollt, aber es wäre wichtig, dass ihr eure Zeichnungen/Entwürfe/Storyboards/Probeseiten DIGITAL bereit habt, als digitale Zeichnungen oder abfotografiert/gescannt. Dieses Onlinetreffen wird nicht aufgenommen oder gestreamt, es ist nur für euch angemeldete Comic-Künstler*Innen.

A year ago, in June, we started to do our monthly Comic Meeting Up digitally instead of at our store in Berlin, and now we are celebrating it with a mentor who will join us from Kassel. Rita Fürstenau works as a freelance illustrator and author. She is co-founder of Rotopol, a publishing house for graphic narratives, and has been working as a publisher since its founding in 2007. She was born in Berlin in 1982 and moved to Kassel in 2001, where she studied visual communication at the art school, with a focus on illustration. She also studied educational science and elementary school teaching at the University of Kassel. In addition to her artistic and publishing work, since 2011 she has been teaching at the art school for children and teenagers in Kassel, as well as at various universities as a guest lecturer in illustration and graphic storytelling, among them the Art School Kassel, The Animation Workshop Viborg (DK), Sofia University (BG) and Fudan University in Shanghai (CN). Her clients include Bahlsen, Google, Goldkinder magazine and the Museumslandschaft Hessen Kassel. Her own work is published by Rotopol in the form of books, folding books, paper games, postcards, and hand-printed sketchbooks and textiles. These can be found at the store gallery in Kassel, along with the rest of Rotopol's program and a variety of comic and picture books from all around the world.

Participation as video call with APPLICATION:

please send an email with the subject line 'Stammtisch' to the Meetup coordinator Augusto (augusto [dot] paim [at] gmail [dot] com), he will send you the meeting link on the day. Add to the email what you will be showing and what topics are of interest to you. You don't have to show your face in the call if you don't want to, but have your sketches or comics ready in digital form on your computer to be able to get feedback from other comic artists and from the mentor. This online meeting will not be recorded or broadcast publicly, it is only for you artists who are participating.
