DIGITAL: Mo. 1.11. ab 20h Comicstammtisch mit / Comicmeeting with Serpentina Hagner

Die Mentorin unseres digitalen Stammtischs im November hat recht spät mit Comiczeichnen angefangen, dafür aber mit viel Fertigkeit. Serpentina Hagner wurde 1956 in Zürich geboren. Nach einer abgebrochenen Ausbildung zur Werklehrerin und einer kurzen Zeit als Bohemienne begann sie 1987 als Köchin zu arbeiten. Neben der hauptberuflichen Tätigkeit als Gastronomin in diversen Kulturbetrieben wandte sie sich vermehrt der Kunst zu. 1994 gewann sie am Comicfestival Lenzburg den ersten Preis, viel später war sie Finalistin des Comicbuchpreises der Berthold Leibinger Stiftung 2017 mit dem Werk »Der Märchenmaler von Zürich« (Edition Moderne). In diesem Buch und im nächsten, »Der Blechbauchmaier«, arbeitet sie die intensiven Gespräche auf, die sie ab 1995 mit ihrem Vater Emil Medardus Hagner bis zum seinem Tod im Jahr 1999 über ihre Familiengeschichte führte. Ferner realisierte Serpentina Hagner 2018 für den Deutschen Bundestageine Graphic Novel zum 100-jährigen Jubiläum des Frauenwahlrechts in Deutschland.

Dieses Onlinetreffen wird nicht aufgenommen oder gestreamt, es ist nur für euch angemeldete Comic-Künstler*Innen.

The November mentor of our monthly digital Comic Meeting Up started to draw comics quite late, but with a lot of skill. Serpentina Hagner was born in Zurich in 1956. After an unfinished apprenticeship as a handicraft teacher and a short time working as a bohemian, she started as a cook in 1987. In addition to working full-time as a caterer in various cultural establishments, she increasingly turned to art. In 1994, she won the first prize at the Lenzburg Comic Book Festival, and much later she was a finalist for the 2017 Berthold Leibinger Foundation's Comic Book Prize with her work "Der Märchenmaler von Zürich" (Edition Moderne). In this book and in the next one, "Der Blechbauchmaier," she deals with the intense conversations she had with her father Emil Medardus Hagner from 1995 until his death in 1999 about their family history. Furthermore, in 2018 Serpentina Hagner realized a graphic novel for the German Bundestag on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of women's suffrage in Germany.

Add to the email what you will be showing and what topics are of interest to you. You don't have to show your face in the call if you don't want to, but have your sketches or comics ready in digital form on your computer to be able to get feedback from other comic artists and from the mentor. This online meeting will not be recorded or broadcast publicly, it is only for you artists who are participating.
