Mo. 2.3. ab 20h Comicstammtisch /Comicmeeting with Bea Davies

Bea Davies ist die Mentorin des Stammtisches im März. Die 1990 in Italien geborene und seit Jahren in Berlin lebende Zeichnerin veröffentlichte im vergangenen Jahr mit dem Journalisten Patrick Spät ihre erste Graphic Novel: »Der König der Vagabunden« (avant-Verlag) kam 2019 in die engere Wahl für den Leibinger Comic-Preis und wurde dadurch gefördert. Ihr erstes Solo-Buch kommt bald in die Buchhandlungen: »A child’s Journey – Drawn by mama« (Jaja Verlag) sammelt biografische Comics, die das Aufwachsen ihres Sohnes dokumentieren.

Bea Davies is the mentor of the comics meeting in March. Born in 1990 in Italy and based in Berlin, she published last year with the journalist Patrick Spät her first Graphic Novel, „Der König der Vagabunden“ (avant-verlag), which was shortlisted for the Leibinger Comic Prize and won a grant. Her first solo book is coming to the bookstores soon: “A child’s Journey – Drawn by mama” (Jaja Verlag) collects biographical Comics that she made to document her son growing up.

Mo. 3.2. ab 20h Comicstammtisch /Comicmeeting with Tina Brenneisen

Tina Brenneisen lebt und arbeitet als Comiczeichnerin und Karikaturistin in Berlin. Sie ist Gründerin der Parallelallee, einem kleinen, unabhängigen Verlag für Comics und illustrierte Literatur. In ihrer 2019 bei Edition Moderne erschienenen Graphic Novel "Das Licht, das Schatten leert", die 2017 den Comicbuchpreis der Berthold Leibinger Stiftung gewann, verarbeitet die Autorin eine Totgeburt und den Verlust ihres eigenen Sohnes.

Tina Brenneisen lives and works as a comic artist and cartoonist in Berlin. She is the founder of Parallelallee, a small, independent publishing house for comics and illustrated literature. In her graphic novel "Das Licht, das Schatten leert" ("The Light that Empties Shadows"), published by Edition Moderne in 2019 and winner of the 2017 Comic Book Prize of the Berthold Leibinger Stiftung, the author deals with a stillborn child and the loss of her own son.

Liebe Comicfreund_Innen,

wir freuen uns sehr, daß für diesen Stammtisch Augusto Paim als Mentor zu uns kommt!

 Augusto Paim ist Journalist und Übersetzer und setzt sich seit über einem Jahrzehnt mit journalistischen Comics auseinander. Er entwickelt Reportagen mit unterschiedlichen Zeichnern und Zeichnerinnen und schrieb seine Dissertation zur Theorie und Praxis des Comicjournalismus an der Bauhaus-Universität.

Es lohnt sich also diesmal nicht nur für Zeichner_Innen zu kommen, sondern auch für Übersetzer_Innen und Arbeitende im Bereich der Comictherorie. Wir freuen uns auf Euch und einen spannenden Abend!

this monday we are happy to welcome Augusto Paim as a mentor! He is translator and journalist and evolves comic-reportages together with different comic-artists. He wrote his dissertation about the theory and practice of comic-journalism at the Bauhaus University. This evening will not only be interesting for comic-artists, but also for translators or people interested in comic-theory. Come around!
